NFL Superbowl XLIX

Billy Froetscher, Staff Writer

There is much anticipation for this upcoming Super Bowl on February 1, with no clear cut favorite. The odds of each team winning the Super Bowl can be found on cbssports.com. The Seahawks remain the favorites according to cbssports.com, but there are many “dark horses” that need to be discussed.

Divisional Round:

There’s a lot of excitement around the Colts vs. Broncos game in Denver. The Broncos are said to be the favorite in this game, but people can not count out Andrew Luck and the Colt’s valued wide receiver. If the Colts can find an answer through their running back, the Colts will have a real chance to take down Peyton Manning and his new team, the Denver Broncos.

Pick: Colts
The next game in the divisional round is the Patriots versus the Ravens in Foxborough. Many counted the Ravens out after losing their star running back Ray Rice to legal issues early in the season. However,  if the Ravens play tough they could come out with a win come playoff time in Foxborough. Unfortunately the Ravens are not as strong as they have been in previous years, but one thing is for sure, it will be a hard fought battle.

Pick: Patriots

Many expect the Packers to come out victorious from the Cowboys vs. Packers face off. This year, a majority of fans across the country would say Aaron Rodgers is the MVP. With a strong arm, pin point accuracy and scrambling ability, he has all the tools to win a championship. Dallas on the other hand, has fallen a bit off their typical game from since the beginning of the season, but no one can ever count out a team with the best running game in the NFL and a top five wide-receiver.

Pick: Packers

The Seahawks are the clear cut favorites in their game at home against the Panthers. Many believe that the Panthers have made it to the divisional round from pure luck. That luck is sure to run out against the most well rounded team in the league.

Pick:  Seahawks

Super Bowl Champs?

According to Sports Nation, America has the Patriots coming out of the AFC and the Packers coming out of the NFC.

Chris Chase, who works for usatoday.com, said, “the Colts will be Super Bowl Champions in 2015.”

Gregg Doyel interviewed Andrew Luck after their huge win against the Bengals. Doyel said after that  “Andrew Luck showed he’s the reason the Colts are Super Bowl contenders.”

What makes the Colts so dangerous is that no one expects them to win. They are one of the “Dark Horses” in these playoffs to say the least. The Colts also have some of the best underrated wide receivers in the whole league.  They will go in to the mile-high city and defeat Peyton Manning. They will continue on and beat Tom Brady and march into the Super Bowl and take down the defending Champions with style. The Colts will be crowd  Super Bowl champions in 2015.

Pick: Colts
