The West Morris Wolfpack has made it to the Halverson Cup playoffs this year. In first place was Montville, in second Roxbury, in third the Wolfpack, in fourth was Mendham, in fifth Pequannock, and in last was Mountain Lakes.

West Morris as the third seed played Mountain Lakes due to the fact that Montville and Roxbury received a bypass for coming in second and first in the division. So both Roxbury and Montville both did not have to play an extra game and qualified to go straight to the semi finals.

West Morris, however, despite being the lower seed, made it to the Halverson Cup finals. West Morris got there by beating Mountain Lakes in the Halverson Cup first round. West Morris won the game two to on, with Tim Polglase saving 33 shots on goal and only letting one in. Tim earned himself a .971 save percentage for the game and was a great factor in the team’s victory. Other players such as Alex Scott played a big role in that game too. Alex scored the first goal of the game against Mountain Lakes very early in the game to give West Morris the momentum they needed. Doug Olcese assisted the goal and scored the second goal for his team as well.

After playing Mountain Lakes in the first round of the playoffs, West Morris met with Roxbury in the semi finals. The first time that West Morris and Roxbury met in the regular season Roxbury got the win 4 to 3 in a close game, though their second meeting was not as close as Roxbury beat West Morris 5 to 1.

However, when the two met in the Halverson Cup semi finals, the roles were switched when  West Morris secured the win against Roxbury 2 to 0. Tim Polglase earned himself a shutout performance, saving 27 shots and letting none past him. Doug Olcese also scored the first goal assisted by Ray Law, while Dan Mcgillicuddy and Anthony Piombino scored the second goal for West Morris assisted by Sam Scott and John Kalmus.

Now the Wolfpack must face Montville. This will be a great game considering the fact that in their matchups during regular season, both games were close. In both games, Montville managed to walk away with a victory, however the Wolfpack is feeling confident in the progress they have made since those matchups.
