Review of Criminal Minds

Lauren Onweller

Criminal Minds is a TV show that has been airing since 2005 and is now on its twelfth season. With over two hundred seventy episodes, it is surprising that the (many) writers can keep each episode so unique. The show is about a team of FBI Behavior Analysts who solve crimes through “profiling” or psychoanalyzing suspects and crime scenes. The team is able to solve nearly every case within each episode, and the viewer develops an emotional attachment to every agent. Many people who actually work in the criminal justice field support the claim that Criminal Minds accurately captures the process by which some analysts find criminals. Almost anyone who views the show will say that once you start watching, you will not be able to stop.

With so many glowing reviews, there are also a few that discredit the show’s originality. Some say that Criminal Minds is a copy of NCIS, but many others disprove this lousy  notion by demonstrating how the character development and processes used within the show are much more believable and accurate. Ultimately, Criminal Minds is a great show that everyone should give a chance if they have the time to, and are not afraid of being completely enthralled by it.
