Stephen Hawking says

“Humanity won’t survive another 1,000 years on Earth because of, you know, the usual suspects, climate change, nukes and robots.”

The best chance at survival is to leave Earth, the only place we know and establish colonies on other planets.

Stephen said ¨Although the chance of a disaster to planet Earth in a given year may be quite low, it adds up overtime, and becomes a near certainty in the next 1,000 or 10,000 years.¨

Hawkings then said in the speech that ¨by that time we should have spread out into space, and to other stars, so a disaster on Earth would not mean the end of the human race.¨

In Stephen Hawking’s speech he said “The development of artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race.”

The production of these robots would “take off on its own, and redesign itself at an ever increasing rate.” according to Hawking.

NASA is searching for ¨goldilocks” exoplanets which are planets that might be suitable to sustain life. Space X CEO Elon Musk has made plans to colonize Mars within the next century.

Stephen Hawkings told listeners to ¨Remember to look up at the stars and now down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see, wonder about what makes the universe exist.¨

The last thing that he said was ¨Be curious. However difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. It matters that you don’t just give up.¨
