Perpetual Pet Peeves – You’re Not Alone!

You are not the only one with those little things that drive you crazy. Those littles things called pet peeves will forever affect our lives. We tend to hide our pet peeves to make us seem somewhat content but in reality, a large variety of people have this in common. We sent out a poll to twenty-two West Morris Central students revealing the most and least common aggravations.

The most common pet peeve, resulting in twenty-one responses, is students getting annoyed when other students walk at a slow pace. “I’m a fast walker, so it’s aggravating to see people walking slow with no regard to the people around them,” stated by junior, Isabella Ramina.

The second most common pet peeve is when people do not say thank you when you hold the door for them. Seventeen out of twenty-two students checked this as their pet peeve.

Siblings that don’t shut your door when they leave your room and friends taking your food, both received fourteens responses.

Parents playing the “go ask your mom/dad” card, singing along to all the songs during a long car ride, and students that sprint to class all tied in second place for the least annoying peeve.

The least irritating is when people don’t ask “how are you” back. This obtained only six counts.

This WMC poll determined that students are more irritated that they can’t get to their next class, rather than having a steady conversation. Sadly, we have no solution to these irritations or pet peeves, but just know that you are not alone with getting annoyed with slow walkers.
