Although Donald J. Trump was elected over two months ago, he has yet to hold a press conference discussing his presidential win and answering questions from reporters.

The last time president-elect Donald J. Trump had a press conference was July 27th, where the election campaign was still in full swing. Hillary Clinton, his opponent in the race, held a conference on November 9th, discussing her loss.

Trump has been keeping busy, going on a victory tour around the United States; a move unconventional to prior election winners. This has been highly criticized by individuals that believe this is an example of where his true interests are.

In a tweet from Adam J. Smith, he points out the flaws within Trump’s presidential decisions.

“I will be a President for all Americans.
• appoints white supremacist as chief advisor
• “victory tour” in only states that voted for him”

Trump’s “Thank You America” Tour has been focusing on key swing states that he won, which in itself has received backlash because it appears he is not focusing on the entirety of the American public, but solely the ones that helped him the most.

In comparison to presidents like George W. Bush, who held a press conference 41 days after his win in 2000, Trump has waited 63 days, almost double the amount.

According to NPR data, the average president holds a conference more often than those numbers.

The president has fielded questions from reporters on average about every 15 days”.

Instead, Trump has been touring the country to celebrate his win and has appeared to seem unconcerned with the new job he will be assigned starting January 20th, 2017.

Although there has been many incidents during Donald J. Trump’s presidential campaign that would be considered unorthodox, it surprised many to see that those sort of uncommon actions are being continued throughout his transition to the White House.

Many have not just noticed this, but spoken out about it.

“It’s crazy that people like Donald Trump . . . he shouldn’t even be where he is, so God help us” said Robert De Niro on Trump’s surprising success during the election race.

Throughout Trump’s transition to the White House, he has gone off the typical path of holding a press conference closely to election day and instead has been traveling the United States on his “Thank You America” tour. Although Trump will have held a conference by the time this article is published, questions like who will play at his inauguration, as well as his cabinet remain a mystery.
