Get Some Pep in your Step

The chilled air was filled to the brim with school spirit, excitement, and early fall enthusiasm as the sun set on Friday, September 19, when the Student Council hosted a pre-game WMC pep rally on the soccer field before WMC’s first home football game.

The fun-filled event, which packed enough school spirit to last an entire season, was open to all students and drew quite a large crowd. Students at the pep rally got the chance to make Wolfpack-themed signs to root for the team, while getting their faces painted with vivid team colors. They were also able to participate in various contests, such as basketball spinning, “Find the Swedish Fish” all while playing a quick game of volleyball with friends. The upbeat, cheerful tones of  both the Navidson Record, and the Jake Squilby Band; two local music groups which played overlooking the field, drifted through the crowds at the rally, bringing excitement and a thrilling ethos over all.

As the evening progressed and the sun set, crowds made their ways into the grandstands to witness and root for WMC in their first home game of the season. This massive, pep filled, get-together was responsible for the cheers coming from the grandstands, as the Wolfpack proved successful in their substantial victory against Mount Olive for the team’s first win of the season.

In the words of Caleb Hafen, a member of the Navidson Record and one of the organizers of the event, “ Get some pep in your step, West Morris!” Go Wolfpack!
