MTV Movie Awards/Review

Lily Friel, Staff Writer

Do you love movies? Are you excited when all the media talks about are the latest hits? Do you love seeing your favorite actors aside from a movie they’re in? Then the MTV Movie Awards was the show for you!

This year on the star-studded awards show that took place in mid-April were plenty of young actors that received awards. Some of your favorite actors and actresses such as Shailene Woodley, Jennifer Lawrence, and Robert Downey Jr. took the awards for hottest movie of the year that most teenagers liked. Among the winners were Fault in Our Stars, Whiplash, and Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 with Fault in Our Stars being the biggest winner of all. Ansel Elgort snagged plenty of awards/nominations for his role in Fault in Our Stars while Dylan O’Brien got an award for ‘best hero’ in The Maze Runner.

Overall, critics say that the MTV Movie awards has gotten the lowest amount of views ever which was at 1.5 million people. In my opinion, I was happy with who won and with the show as a whole. Some of the award shows recently like the iHeart Radio Music awards and the Billboard Music awards have been disappointing since it feels like “good talent” is becoming easier to find rather than it being the opposite. These programs still are entertaining to watch though because there is always a news story on the following day about something whacky that’s happened.
If you’re a movie and music junkie like me, I bet you would agree with me on this issue of “TV Chatter” by Lily Friel.
