Famous Musicians Grieve B.B. King’s Death

Whether it was being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during his career or being known as “The King of Blues,” B.B. King lived a full life as a great musician. After his death on May 14, 2015, musicians from all around the globe mourned his death.

 

After his death, at 89 years of age, King influenced and was well respected by a large sphere of musicians mainly through social media. On Twitter, singer-guitarist Lenny Kravitz expressed emotion for the death of the legendary guitarist.

 

“BB,” Kravitz said, “anyone could play a thousand notes and never say what you said in one. #RIP #BBKing.”

 

Similarly, fellow blues guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd shared on Facebook his farewell.

“Farewell BB King,” Shepherd said. “You were like a father to me in many ways over the years. The world is a much better place because you were here. Rest In Peace my friend. The Thrill Is finally Gone. ‪#‎BBKing‬ ‪#‎RIP‬.”

“Eric Clapton said in a Facebook video post: ‘He was a beacon for all of us who loved this kind of music, and I thank him from the bottom of my heart,’” mentioned CNN.

Iconic Beatle star, Ringo Starr, grieved the late B.B. King’s death as well.

“God bless BB King peace and love to his family Ringo and Barbarax,” Starr shared on Twitter.

Singer Gladys Knight, who had performed and collaborated with him, expressed her deepest regards to King’s passing and legacy on a global level: “What a brilliant man you were. One who will forever be noted as such an inspiration to millions globally, RIP #BBKing.”

Musicians posting their sentiments through social media only adds to the level of respect and influence that B.B. King had on the outside world that surrounded him.
