Cameron Brown threw his 4 year old daughter, Lauren Sarene Key, off a cliff fifteen years ago to avoid paying for child support. He had previously told Sarah Key-Marer to get an abortion and had even tried to get her deported but she did not agree and gave birth to her daughter, Lauren.

Brown’s attorney argued that his client loved and cared for Lauren and that the girl was playing near the cliff’s edge when she slipped and had fallen to her death. But, she could not have fell of the edge and avoid hitting any outcropping or hit the beach below.

Another factor taken into account was that the four year old would not have been up there on her own volition. It was confirmed that Brown had thrown his daughter off the cliff with such power that she did not hit any outcropping.

After three trials and fifteen years, Cameron Brown, the father of Lauren Key was found guilty of first degree murder.

Sarah Key-Marer was relieved about the verdict but, “There are no winners here, certainly not for Cameron’s family, and not for ours.”.
