Are you dreading that same old turkey dinner for this Thanksgiving? Have you ever thought about deviating from your family’s normal dinner traditions? Well, we are here to help! We decided to research into a unique thanksgiving recipe that could ultimately make your holiday experience a lot more exciting! Therefore, we interviewed one of the WMC cooking teachers, Mrs. McManus, asking her if she had any special recipes up her sleeve. Well, turns out, she did!

Mrs. McManus explained to us, “I make ‘Cranberry Orange Butter’ for the rolls… I put it in a crystal bowl garnished with orange zest, and it adds a pale pink/red color to my table!”

Below is the exact recipe for this delicious and colorful butter that she suggested:

Directions:

I take 1 stick of  room temperature salted butter and beat it in my mixer until smooth.

Then I add 1 can of whole berry cranberry sauce and gently beat that until incorporated.

I zest a  fresh orange (about 1/2 teaspoon) and use it for garnishing the bowl.

I then squeeze the  orange to get about  1 tablespoon fresh juice. I add the juice into the butter mixture. It looks a little chunky but it will melt beautifully over the hot rolls.

I scrape the butter mixture into my glass bowl and press it down and mound the top. I then garnish it with the orange zest.
