West Morris Central basketball  opened up their season home against their rival Mount Olive. The crowd and the players were all pumped up for the season and the game.

West Morris’ crowdbball had a white out while Mount Olive’s crowed had a blackout, complete opposites.

West Morris came out very slow. In the first 6 minutes of play they only scored 2 points until Dominic Grauso hit a three pointer to break the rough streak. WMC cut the lead to six at halftime 21-15. A WMC Senior Jillian Dipietro who was in attendance at the game said at halftime “The boys look really good out there I think they could come out and win this game.”

But in the third quarter Mount Olive took over and outscored west morris 19 to 8. WMC did not give up and outscored MO in the fourth quarter but Jason Drury who had 17 points for Mount Olive was too much for the Pack to handle.

Brandon Hood and Anthony Ficacci MO forwards chipped in with 10 points, while Jared Traub scored nine for Mount Olive.

Dominic Grauso had a team-high 16 points for West Morris. With Chase Wanic scoring nine points on two threes. And Jeffrey Millet had six points on three baskets.

At the final buzzer Mount Olive came on top winning the game 58- 42.

Two days after the MO game WMC traveled to Parsippany Hill for a game where they were the ones on top of the scoreboard this time.
