“With the new conferences, our whole schedule got messed up,” says senior varsity football player Zach Meister, about the shocking lack of varsity home games this season.

In the 2016 season there are only four home football out of the 14 games the team plays in their regular season.

“It’s kinda disappointing because it is a big event, we always look forward to playing in front of the home crowd  . . . it’s important” continues Meister, and recommends WMC students make the effort to go to away games and support the team, “there should definitely be buses to transport the fans.”

Senior Aidan Carrara says, “ I feel a little robbed. Its one of the bigger events that people choose to go to . . . the fact that there are only four I feel like it’s not as significant.”

“I have just moved here I don’t feel like I have got to experience the home games as much as other kids,” state’s sophomore Patrick Jolly.

However junior Blanca Neglected is unconcerned, “I don’t particularly mind, I know it alternates every year depending on scheduling.”

The home football games are important to both the teams and the fans; a night of high energy and fun on both sides. To keep the Wolfpack spirit alive try to get to the away night games, and take advantage of fan busses when they are available.

The dates of the four home games are Friday, September 16th, against West Essex, Friday, September 30th, against Mount Olive High School, Friday, October 14, against Morris Knolls, and  Friday, November 4th, against Roxbury.
