Netflix users throughout the world completely disregard the unwritten rule of how many episodes should be watched a week. Instead of one to three episodes a week, bingers allow themselves to consume an entire season within that time frame.

Although how quickly you watch a certain TV show depends on your interests, it also depends solely on the show you are focused on. The series can hold all of your attention, but is that enough to say, “just one more episode” at three in the morning?

According to Netflix Media Center, “Netflix helps you to find a series to binge no matter your mood or occasion, and the freedom to watch that series at your own pace – whether that’s to appreciate the drama of Bloodline or power through Orange is the New Black.

Netflix Media Center determines most “devoured” shows by the number of hours watched daily. Shows watched more than two hours a day are considered the most hooking, or the best cliff hangers.

Specific television shows display a jaw-dropping reaction at the end of almost every episodes that have viewers on the edge of their seats for more, and with Netflix it’s only one click away.

We surveyed a variety of West Morris Central students, asking them how many hours they spent watching t.v. Monday through Thursday and Friday through Sunday.

The average of hours students watch Netflix from Monday to Thursday is about 2.7 hours. While 8.7 hours is the average hours that students watch Netflix from Friday to Sunday.

Most of the students believe Netflix is for the weekend, thus should not be watch during the week, since school work and school activities are more important.

However, students also claimed that watching one episode once a week would not be detrimental. As stated by junior Isabella Ramia, “Watching one show on Netflix helps me relax and take a break from school work.”

Everyone needs a break from studying and doing homework at some point, so what’s a better way to relax by watching your favorite t.v. show and eating popcorn?
