Bob Hoskins, Legendary British actor, Passes away at 71

Whenever Hollywood loses one of its many icons, it is a great tragedy; this year in particular. Between Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Mickey Rooney, it has been a very unfortunate year for Hollywood. Sadly, now Bob Hoskins, acclaimed for his roles in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, as well as The Cotton Club, has passed on as well. Hoskins was 71.

Hoskins started his career after he accidentally showed up posing as his friend for an audition. Since then, Hoskins has soared in a variety of roles ranging from gangsters to detectives, to even gaming’s biggest icon, Mario. Over the years, Hoskins has made a true name for himself as an actor after landing multiple Oscar nods and wins in movies such as Mona Lisa and Last Orders.

However, Hoskins’ most popular role was that of Detective Valiant in the animated/live-action classic, Who Framed Roger Rabbit? To date, this is still Hoskins’ most popular role, as well as the role that launched his career.
