Within the past couple weeks there has been many exciting events that have happened for the West Morris Central softball team. Including Coach Bertos’ 100th win, Senior Night, and the team advancing to the semifinals of states.
Senior night and Coach Bertos’ 100th win just so happened to be on the same night. The Wolfpack played Chatham for their senior night game and came away with a win. They worked hard throughout the entire game and came out on top awarding the seniors with a great senior night and Coach Bertos with her 100th win. The team celebrated their victory and continued to work hard, bringing them into the NJSIAA state tournament as the fifth seed.
Their first game was against, twelfth seed, Summit high school where they came away with a win advancing them to the quarter finals. For the quarter finals they played, fourth seed, South Plainfield and defeated them, advancing them to the semi-finals.
The semi-finals of the NJSIAA state tournament will be played on May 27, 2014 at 2pm at Warren Hills against, first seed, Warren Hills. West Morris is rooting for the Wolfpack and hoping they come back with another win which would advance them to the finals of the state tournament.
