Brady is team captain of the WMC boy’s soccer team, and he has played on the team all four years in high school. The WMC soccer team has had a rough year, but they are still pushing through with a record of 2-9-1.
Brady’s earliest memory of playing soccer is playing for his “rec team, when [he] was first starting out” playing soccer. From there, he found his passion for the sport and still loves playing on the WMC team all these years later.
Brady described the WMC team as “pretty positive, because we’ve all been friends for almost 6 years now,” referring to all the years in middle school and high school he and his teammates have played together which helped build a strong and connected team dynamic.
Brady’s all-time favorite memory of soccer is, “last year’s game against Sparta when we beat [them] in the last second.” This memory stands out to Brady because of the excitement the team felt over this big win.
Regarding the balance of academics and athletics, he says that he “balances it pretty well,” and would tell a younger version of himself to just “do what you need to do to get work done.” Brady would advise his freshman self to “keep working hard and stay on top of your grades.” He thinks that this is the most important part of athletics because balancing athletics and academics is just as important as being the best at a sport. Brady is not planning on playing soccer in college, but he hopes that the WMC soccer team has a strong finish for the end of their season this year.
