Sophomore Olivia Eden is no stranger to the spotlight. A talented singer, she has already performed on stage with her father and at WMC sporting events. She also has her own songs on Spotify that people listen to.
This year, Eden auditioned for season 24 of The Voice and sang “This Town” by Niall Horan. Eden impressed two coaches with her amazing singing, Reba McEntire and Niall Horan. Not surprisingly, she picked Horan.
According to an article in Entertainment, Horan said that it’s easy to “be hard on people who sing your song because you know it inside out” and was very shocked but impressed by how she changed the song to fit her creativity and voice. McEntire too was flabbergasted at her vocal ease and calmness, thinking she had so much “poise” on stage for being so young. Even John Legend and Gwen Stefani who didn’t turn around said that she had a charm and a little yodel to her voice that suits her and will help her go far.
During the episode which aired on Monday October 23rd, she sang “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer with Julia Roome in the battle round. Although she lost, Horan said it was a really hard choice to pick because both girls have an amazing voice and seem like best friends in a way. He praised Olivia Eden saying, “Your tone is so captivating, so weird and cool, like, it’s got a bit of everything.” Despite losing, Acosta said the experience was “really fun” because she was able to perform on The Voice, meet Niall Horan, and become friends with fellow contestant Julia Roome.
Olivia Eden will continue to sing and perform at WMC events and maybe one day take her talents to the big stage again.
