In a highly anticipated match-up, last Tuesday, the Unified Soccer team beat the staff team by a score of 4-3.
The underdog win was a team effort with goals by Aiden Hester, Sierra Darling, Chris Levin, and Emily Koenders, with expert sportsmanship on and off the field.
The staff’s attack was headed by none other than boys’ head soccer coach, and former college player, Steve Cukar. The TCNJ player put on a spectacular performance with a hat trick, although not enough to stop the Unified team from taking the win. A disappointed Cukar exclaimed after the game that with “some more time, some more reps out on the practice field, [the staff team] will be in good shape [for next year].”
This game is an annual event and looked forward to by both students and faculty alike. With the Unified Season coming to a close, the win rounds out a fall filled with fun and competitive play as well as a season with a special emphasis on “leadership, sportsmanship, and inclusion” in accordance with the Unified message.
