West Morris Central’s Marching Band took the field by storm during the 23’-24’ Marching Band season. The season starts out with two weeks of “band camp.” For the 2023 season the first week was August 7th – August 11th from 8:00am to 4:00pm in the WMC Band Room for rehearsal, then the second week was August 14th – August 18th from 6:30pm – 9:00pm for rehearsal. During the season the team meets two days a week for three hours giving the group six hours of practice every week. Also, all of their competitions are on the weekend and to make sure everything is running smoothly the team makes sure to get to the competition early. The band directors create a routine for the marching band and colorguard to perform throughout the season; the team does not make any changes to this routine during the season.

The exposure the team gets from attending events that focus on different areas of instrumentalism rather than just football games is very valuable.. Rachel Dilling from the WMC marching Band said “I love having competitions, football games are fun but I like competitions better.” The West Morris Central Marching band had a very successful season and WMC as a whole is excited to see what they bring next year.
