On Saturday, October 13th, Ariana Grande hosted Saturday Night Live with musical guest Stevie Nicks. Grande performed multiple skits and Nicks would make her return to SNL after 40 years to perform her latest single, “The Lighthouse,” a pro-choice anthem, and her biggest solo hit, “Edge of Seventeen.”
Ariana Grande, who also hosted SNL in 2016, opened with her monologue where she sang impressions of Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, and Gwen Stefani. She later did skits where she played a mother who meets her son’s boyfriend for the first time, sang a song about the smell of her best friend’s house, played a little boy during the Renaissance, and more. She then introduced Stevie Nicks twice as Nicks would perform.
Stevie Nicks, who was last on SNL in 1983 and performed hits, ‘Nightbird”, and “Stand Back” from her album The Wild Heart returned 40 years later to promote her latest song, “The Lighthouse” and perform one of her best selling songs, “Edge of Seventeen.”
Both Ariana Grande and Stevie Nicks would put on amazing performances in their returns to Saturday Night Live, encapsulating the viewers.
