On Saturday October 5th, WMC got dolled up for the second annual Homecoming Dance. The dance was open to all grades and ran from 6:30-9:30. The AUX gym was beautifully decorated to go with the theme of Enchanted Garden including a leafy backdrop for photos with friends and fun lights to hype up the students.
The attendees all had a very good time. Senior Payton Crisp states “I’m having a really great time hanging out with my friends outside of school hours and playing a bunch of games.” Along with spending time with friends, Sophomore Maxwell Hylton describes the dance to have “good music and good vibes” and would describe the whole night as “crazy”. Junior Ella Fuller states that “ The people that I have seen [in my grade] have been dancing and having a great time.” This night was definitely a great way for students to get dressed up with their friends and have a fun time.
In order for this dance to have everything it needed, The Student Council hosted games to raise money throughout the week like knockout and a guessing game where students had to figure out how many candies were in a jar. Crisp, student council vice president states that “We had to hold a lot of fundraisers where the students can have fun while we’re still making profits.” The student council’s work paid off. Freshman Abigail Czinkota states, “This has been one of my favorite dances including the ones at the middle school.”
Ms. Donnelly and Mrs. Shaffer, the advisers of the dance, along with the student council worked very hard to make this homecoming dance possible. The night was definitely one to remember!
