Adam Sandler has been seen filming all over NJ for his new movie Happy Gilmore 2 which is coming out next October. It’s a sports comedy catching up with Happy Gilmore himself 30 years after the first one premiered in 1996. A portion of the filming occurred in the next town over from Long Valley at the Farm View Golf Course in Hackettstown.
Steve Linz, the owner and founder of the course itself said ” I was surprised, you know, that they were considering us and I didn’t really think it was gonna happen.” Linz said. Initially a representative for the movie stopped by with a business card stating they were interested.
“In terms of what this can do for the business it’s brought a lot of people by and uh a lot of people are interested and asking questions about it and wanting to see what the place looks like” continued Linz. Not only did it help business numbers wise but the production team also left two brand-new mini-golf holes. These include a newly built big red ship and a windmill which will both be used in the movie.
Sandler himself was described by Linz as “A great guy. I was impressed by him, and he seemed very friendly, and it was very nice to the you know, people that were watching and, in the streets, and at the end, he went over and did some autographs and
some fist bumping’s, some handshakes, with his fans so I thought that was nice that he did that. I got a picture with him of course. How could I resist?”
Due to the movie not being out yet Linz couldn’t disclose too much information. He did go on to say “It was just a nice thing that happened to us. We didn’t expect it and it just came along perfectly.”
Keep an eye out next fall for Happy Gilmore 2 to spot the Farm View Golf Course!
