Spooky season is here, and Central is buzzing with excitement! The high school halls are alive with whispers of costumes, party plans, and, of course, some fall time nostalgia. However, our high school choices are a bit different from our childhood choices! So, after chatting with some upperclassmen at West Morris, let’s find out which childhood Halloween costumes topped their lists.
Let’s kick things off with a widespread classic. Senior Brooke Cubbage has always loved Elsa from Frozen, so one year she chose the ice queen as her costume. She says, “I liked becoming Elsa for a night because I always wanted superpowers and Elsa can shoot ice from her hands.” And it seems she wasn’t alone—junior Alexia Domingues also joined the princess/fairy crew, twinkling as Tinker Bell for the night.
But not everyone went the royal route for Halloween. Senior Allie Tuleya won the award for most creative costume with her choice: “I was a laundry basket one year.” The reasoning behind this choice remains a mystery, but points for originality!
Then we have senior Giuliana Rolli, who took a different spin on this spooky night. She rocked her trick-or-treating by dressing up as a “zombie softball player” and even pulled off a zombie cheerleader in another year.
And let’s not forget the many animals that roam the streets on Halloween night! Senior Sofia Sardeira brought the magic as a unicorn pillow pet—because who didn’t want one of those in 2010? Meanwhile, senior Kelsey Mack embraced– and became–her inner sloth for Halloween, proving that even the slowest creatures can have a blast.
