Congratulations to Central’s October Athlete of the Month: Peter Miragliotta!

With 1,639 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns this season, Miragliotta has played a critical role in West Morris’s victories. Central finished their season with a tough loss to West Essex yet their record showed an excellent season with a record of 8-3.

Senior Peter Miragliotta has spent 13 years honing his skills on the football field. Playing the position of fullback, Miragliotta and the football team have faced tough teams like Mount Olive and Morris Knolls this year, which has taught them resilience and strategy for how to bounce back after a tough loss. When the halftime whistle blows and the score isn’t in their favor, they focus on analyzing the first half and finding ways to improve. “We pretty much just figure out everything that we were messing up in the first half, and find out ways to fix it,” he explains.

In addition to football, Miragliotta is actively involved in lacrosse as well which he will be continuing in college. Inside of school, his favorite class is public speaking. Miragliotta says he enjoys the camaraderie with friends and the engaging content of the course.

Regarding advice from coaches, one piece stood out for Miragliotta: “Keep my head up when things aren’t going our way and have faith that it’s going to work out okay.” This mindset is crucial, especially before facing more intimidating opponents. “I’m usually not worried about the intimidation factor. I have faith in our team,” he shares confidently.

Balancing academics and athletics is difficult, but Miragliotta recognizes its importance. “You have to be good on and off the field. If you stick with it, you’re going to succeed,” he advises, emphasizing the value of commitment.

Miragliotta has exciting plans for his future. He has committed to play lacrosse at Moravian University, combining his passion for sports with his academic journey. Congratulations to Peter on this accomplishment and best of luck for his future!
