- When purchasing an item, remember to use Tap to Pay with a contactless debit card to avoid unwanted strangers stealing your card pin #
- This season, be aware of QR code scams attempting to steal your information. To avoid this,verify the QR codes source and confirm it is a trusted source.
iPhone safety:
- Please remember to avoid plugging your iPhone into school registered devices ex. your Chromebook, to avoid data leakage.
- When out in public, remember to keep your Airdrop setting off or on contacts only as well as your phones Bluetooth to avoid criminals attempting to steal your phones data and to avoid being sent unwanted photographs.
Stay informed:
- Remember to monitor weather/Local News before you leave to avoid potential hazards in the community.
- Sign up for Long Valley’s alert system to stay aware of road closures, power outage, and other important information with this link HERE.
- When approaching your vehicle remember to be aware of your surroundings and keep your keys quickly accessible.
- When listing to music on your cell phone it is important to keep passthrough mode on or keep one ear piece out to keep vigilant of your surroundings.
- Do not leave valuables visible in your vehicles.
- Never go with anyone looking for a lost person or pet! There has been ongoing reports of attempted abductions by using these schemes.
