Elon Musk is starting to create a new train system. The Hyperloop Will allow you to get from London to Edinburgh or Los Angeles to San Francisco in 30 minutes or less.

What exactly is The Hyperloop? A system called very high speed transit was  founded in 1972 which combines both a magnetic levitation train and a low pressure transit tube. The Hyperloop has some of the same ideas as the very high speed transit but it uses tunnels and pods or capsules to go from place to place.

Instead of The Hyperloop have wheels it would use air bearings for the pods. The Hyperloop would then be floating on air instead of using wheels.

The Hyperloop would be built in tunnels where some of the air would be sucked out to a lower pressure. This will allow less resistance for the pod to travel through the tunnels.

The system of The Hyperloop is designed to go much faster than a regular tain. A suggested speed for 700mph is ideal for these trips.

Elon Musk has not announced when The Hyperloop will come to be.

He told CNN that the “Hyperloop will be operational, somewhere in the world, by 2020”

The Hyperloop Transportation Technologies CEO Dirk Ahlborn, said the cost of a ticket should be around $30 for each passenger from Los Angeles to San Francisco. At this price it should allow for the company to pay back its original cost in 8 years.
