The Wolfpack Snack Shack!
The new Wolfpack Snack Shack is located in WMC’s cafeteria. It is run by students in the Transitions class, Work-Based Learning (WBL), and ASPIRE Program with the support of general education peers. The goal is to allow students to practice money, job, and customer service skills. Students work with the help of store advisors, paraprofessionals, and job coaches. Mr. Reindel helps to manage the store and is there all afternoon while student employees rotate in and out of the Snack Shack.
Open to IRT students from 12:15 to 2:15 pm (and closed during passing times) Monday through Friday, it’s the perfect stop for hungry students and faculty. Customers can enjoy mac ‘n cheese, Ramen noodles, chips, cookies, and other sweet snacks. “Our most popular product is the Cosmic brownies,” stated Mr. Reindel. Coffee is available, but only for staff members at this time. In the future, the Snack Shack is looking to extend its services and provide a coffee cart service “Central Perk,” that will deliver coffee to teachers in their classrooms.
Many students are enjoying this new option in the afternoon since the cafeteria is closed at that time. This allows them to grab a quick snack to fuel them for the rest of the day. Mr. Reindel invites all WMC students to “Come in to check out what we sell and see our friendly student employees and staff. We love to see new faces.”
