Guidance Monthly Update: January 2023
The first half of the school year is coming to a close! Though most people are settled into the academic year and seniors are finishing their college applications, there is still a bit of news and information from guidance to keep in mind through the month of January.
The End of the First Semester and Beginning of the Second
The first semester will come to a close on January 13th. The next semester will begin on January 17th, following a day off for students on January 16th to recognize Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This means that students taking a semester-long class will see that class come to an end and begin their second semester class on January 17th.
Seniors
Once the second quarter ends and the grades are completed, midyear transcripts will automatically be sent out to colleges that seniors have applied to.
Freshman, Sophomores, & Juniors
Scheduling meetings for next year’s classes will continue for freshman, sophomores, and juniors. If this applies to you and you have not yet made an appointment with your guidance counselor, it is recommended that you do so as soon as possible!
Sophomores and juniors should also meet with their guidance counselors to begin discussing their plans for a post-high school education.
