The holiday season may not start until after Thanksgiving for you, but for Starbucks it starts as soon as November does. Starbucks just released their holiday menu on November 7th. The drinks include the caramel brulée latte, gingerbread latte, sugar cookie almond milk latte, gingerbread oat milk chai, cran-merry orange lemonade refresher, chestnut praline latte, and peppermint mocha. As for foods, they offer a dark toffee bundt, sugar plum cheese danish, snowman cake pop, cranberry bliss bar, and penguin cookie.
Drinks
Caramel Brulée Latte
If you like caramel, this is the drink for you. It was very well presented with whip cream and pieces of caramel sprinkled on top. It tastes exactly how it sounds. The caramel makes it very sweet and sugary, but it has a thick and creamy substance. It was a good, sweet drink.
Gingerbread Latte
This drink came with whip cream as well and had cinnamon poured over it. It was not a gingerbread flavor and the cinnamon overpowered it. It tasted like a normal coffee mixed with cinnamon.
Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte
As soon as I took the lid off it smelt like I had a real sugar cookie in front of me. It was given with cold foam mixed with red and green sprinkles. The sugary foam was delicious but there wasn’t much flavor beyond that.
Gingerbread Oat Milk Chai
Surprisingly, this chai came cold. Similar to the gingerbread latte, this had whip cream and cinnamon on top. It was a very good chai and I could definitely taste the gingerbread flavor. A good drink but not for a cold day.
Cran-Merry Orange Lemonade Refresher
This refresher was a pretty red with cranberries on top. It was super sweet and very sour but all the flavors were present. You could taste the sweet cranberries mixed with the sour lemonade. This gave it a tarte but delicious flavor.
Chestnut Praline Latte
This drink was definitely one of my favorites. As soon as I took a sip I had memories of a warm fireplace. The whipped foam on top reminded me of melted marshmallows. It was very creamy and tasted like a typical latte but the foam made it delicious. The flavor wasn’t too strong so it’s good for an everyday drink.
Peppermint Mocha
All year long I wait for this drink to come out. This is my favorite one. It came with whip cream and chocolate sprinkled over it. Drinking it reminds me of a hot chocolate but with peppermint flavor. The whip cream makes it even better. It was very chocolate-y but a perfect mix of mint with it.
Food
Dark Toffee Bundt
This was a nicely presented food with red and green sprinkles layered on top. It smelt sugary and yummy. Instantly after taking a bite, I can taste the toffee, maple-y flavor. It was a dry, cake-like texture but very flavorful.
Sugar Plum Cheese Danish
This is a very sweet treat. The bread reminded me of a croissant. It is flakey and buttery with jelly filling inside. The jelly is sweet and I was definitely able to taste the cheese within it.
Snowman Cake Pop
This was my favorite food of them all. It tasted like a traditional cake pop but even more delicious. There was white chocolate on the outside and vanilla cake on the inside. The cake was moist, gooey and yummy.
Cranberry Bliss Bar
This dessert was very pretty with pieces of cranberries on top. It was cake layered with cream cheese icing. The icing was super sweet and not the best but the cake was enjoyable.
Penguin Cookie
This cookie was dry and crumbled right away. There was not much taste of the chocolate on top either. It was a cute design but not the best flavor.
Overall, the holiday menu is a great feature at Starbucks. If you are looking for a good drink or snack to get you in the Christmas spirit, Starbucks has great options for anybody’s liking.
