Game 163

Game 163 as it is being called was played last night, September 30th, between the Texas Rangers

and Tampa Bay Rays in a sudden death game to decide who would snag the final AL Wild Card spot in

this year’s MLB postseason which resulted in a 5-2 Rays win.

The Rays were led by none other than their two best players. Ace pitcher David Price took the

mound and did what he does best. Win Games. He didn’t have his best stuff but regardless only gave up

2 earned runs and 7 hits in the complete game win. 3B Evan Longoria showed why he’s one of the most

clutch performers in the game today by going 3-4 with a 2 run bomb in the third inning to give the Rays

a quick comfortable lead of 3-0. More than enough with Price on the mound.

Texas was impressive however, having to win 7 in a row to even force the wild card game! Even

with all-star slugger Nelson Cruz returning from a 50 game PED suspension, the Rangers simply could

not get anything going against Price. The streak ended at 7 and Texas missed their shot at a 4th straight postseason.
