After losing in the first round of the J.P. Flynn Memorial Tournament last year, the boys’ team went on and won the entire tournament this year. The boys have flown out of the gate to a 5-0 start and have a win-margin of 20.8 points. Senior big man Ryan Hillier kicked the tournament off with a monster 33-point game and Junior guard Christian Cevis added 17 points and 16 assists as the pack went on to win big against St. Joseph. Cevis added another 17 point game (along with 12 assists) in the next round against Delbarton and led the Pack to a 15 point win. In the Championship, another Junior stepped up, this time it being Ethan Stoute who was one of the only sources of offense for the Wolfpack against a tough Hunterdon Central team. The boys were down double digits early but they battled their way back behind Stoute’s 24 points and 4 steals. The final score would end up being 49-41 in favor of West Morris, the closest finish so far for the Pack.

Stoute and Hillier were both named to the All-Tournament team and Cevis was given the Tournaments MVP award. NJ.com now has West Morris ranked as the 18th best team in New Jersey after the tournament win and look for them to keep climbing the ranks as the season goes on.
