As we all get used to this school year and holidays get closer, here are the important events from guidance for October 2024!
On Wednesday, October 9th, the PSAT will be held for all sophomores and juniors that chose to register. This is only a practice SAT, and juniors can qualify based on their score for the National Merit Scholarship. Freshman and seniors will run on a 2-hour delayed opening schedule. When freshmen arrive at school, they should report to the auditorium for grade level programming, and seniors should report to the cafeteria for college application and essay assistance.
On October 10th, guidance is offering a session in the Quiet Study Room to review the CommonApp Activities Section for students. If you are interested in college or have any CommonApp questions, you should attend!
WMC is offering a Pizza and Apps program on October 16th.
If you want to look at more colleges, or missed the first college fair that happened in September, on October 24th, a Mini College Fair will be held during lunch.
Peer tutoring for the 2024-2025 school year has started, and is a great way to learn and understand information you may have not understood while in class. If you need help on a subject, other students are willing to assist you!
Have a great month and happy Halloween!
