The tension in Ukraine is mounting. After Putin sent Russian troops into Ukraine in the area of Crimea, under the pretext that he wants to protect the people of Russian descent in the Crimea area.
Riots broke out in Ukraine in November after the people overthrew the government because of the corrupt former leader, Viktor Yanukovych, who used the country’s money for personal needs, building mansions and buying things for himself.
Now after Putin’s bold move, many countries are left speechless about what to do and many others are calling him delusional.
Here are some of the solutions CNN has come up with:
1. Using Firearms: this would mean that there would be soldiers out in Ukraine used to keep the peace and help defend the sovereignty of Ukraine. This could possibly lead to another war as well.
2. Russia could retreat, although highly unlikely because they want to protect the important assets they have there after losing Crimea after WW2.
3. Russia could retreat with some conditions, such as, Crimea could become a part of Russia again. Ukraine leaders have already took this into consideration and the Ukraine people would get to vote upon this issue.
4. Russia advances because Fabris is not content with Crimea and eager to show Kiev, the new temporary Ukrainian leader just who they are messing with, the Russians storm across the border and take much of eastern Ukraine. This could happen because no one knows what Putin could do.
5. The Western World could turn on Russia and as of now that seems to be the most likely solution because the United States always seems to punish that cross them by freezing their assets and harming the Russian economy leaving Ukraine triumphant.
