On Friday, November 19 your West Morris Central Wolfpack football team earned the title of North 1 Group 3 State Champions. They took down West Essex in a 21-0 win and gave West Morris Central their first title win since 2012 and marks the eighth sectional title in the programs’ history.

The road to get to this game included a high-scoring 56-31 win over Summit in the quarterfinals and a shutout 21-0 win versus Old Tappan in the Semifinals.

This win also secures a spot at Metlife Stadium on November 26 to take on North 2 Group 3 champions Cranford for the regional championship. Cranford is going into the championship game with an undefeated 12-0 regular-season record while West Morris Central is going in with a 9-3 record. Though the game may seem tough, Lineman Bryce Cope isn’t worried because “As a team, we’ve done a lot of great film on them and studied their offense a lot.” He also said, “Just playing in Metlife is exciting and will be a great experience for me and the rest of the team.” So though West Morris Central may seem like the underdogs don’t count them out of taking down Cranford and winning the regional title.
