New Changes in Effect for PSATs

New Changes in Effect for PSATs

It’s that time of the year again! For all sophomores and juniors, PSATs are just around the corner.

Traditionally, students were not required to take the test, because it took place on a Saturday, with a fee of $25.  This year it all changed. The supervisor of college and career  counseling, Mr. Ferrari, sent out the email delivering the news to all parents and students.  In the email, he states “…this year the district will be covering the cost for all sophomores and juniors to take the PSAT.”

Not only does that mean that the PSATs are free for students, but the test will now be taken during school hours, not on the weekend. On Wednesday, October 15th, beginning at 7:40 a.m. sophomores and juniors will be taking the test while freshman and seniors enjoy a three and a half hour delay.

Nancy Zhang, a Junior at WMC, shared, “I think the change is great. It’s great that we get to take it during school hours instead of on a Saturday, it eliminates the hassle of coming in after school hours to take the test.”

For those who take the bus, they will run their regular route for the students taking the test, and an additional time for those who are not.

Good luck sophomores and juniors!
