With Spring Break coming to an end, we wanted to see who escaped the cold Jersey weather, and who chose otherwise. We saw people go far north, south, east and west! There were some notable trips that we were curious about, so here is some more information about them.

Lona Sniderman-Cancun, Mexico

The ideal spring break for most people seemed to be somewhere warm and tropical. Senior Lona Sniderman, along with her family and a couple of friends, spent the week in gorgeous Mexico in a Cancun resort. Here’s what she had to say about the vacation of a lifetime: “We walked into the resort and two concierges handed us all cool scented towels and roses. It was 80 degrees every day, there was incredible nightlife, and we all got to practice our spanish! Certainly an amazing graduation present.” This sounded like a fantastic trip! No better way to get out of the freezing weather than a tropical expedition.

Holly Stenger-Disney

Senior Holly Stenger was also able to get away from the chilly weather in New Jersey. She and her family took a trip to Disney in Florida! But this wasn’t just any ordinary trip; it was Holly’s first time to Disneyland. Nobody can forget his or her first time there; it is always magical. Holly said she was able to eat dinner with all the princesses. However, she admits she was older than all the kids there. “My mom made us wake up early in the morning every day so we could beat the lines for rides, which I can’t say I was too happy about. But it was worth it.” Now that is a dedicated first-timer! Aside from the rides, a memorable activity was eating in Epcot: “We had lunch in Italy and dinner in Germany. It was so cool and realistic.” She also explained that the workers are students studying abroad here in the US!

Jess Roman-North Carolina

Jess Roman, a junior, went to North Carolina during spring break to visit her aunt and uncle! Since they moved there last year, they figured spring break would be a great week to visit. Her mom, dad, and sister took the eight plus hour car ride, and there was definitely some “family bonding”. On there way down, they visited her brother at JMU. Jess said “It was so great to see him! I had not seen him in months”. After a quick overnight with her brother at JMU, they were back on the road headed for North Carolina. Next stop was Lake Gaston! Once she arrived, she reconnected with her aunt and uncle and headed straight for the lake! On their vacation, she spent most of her time on her uncle’s boat, tanning and fishing. When I asked Jess if she caught any fish, she immediately frowned and responded, “No, I’m not the most talented when it comes to fishing!” Overall, this vacation was a great family vacation in which she connected with her family again!

Dominic Grauso-Final 4

Dominic Grauso, a junior here at WMC, was able to experience something unlike anything else. No atmosphere in the world could match the atmosphere of Lucas Oil Stadium on April 6, 2015, for the NCAA National Championship game in Indianapolis. Grauso was lucky enough to be there as the Duke Blue Devils took on the Wisconsin Badgers for the final college basketball game of the year, and not to mention, the biggest game as well. Not only did he see Duke prevail over the badgers in a hard fought battle, but he also was able to meet some players and other celebrities beforehand. Dominic exclaimed: “It was an experience of a lifetime!” He met Duke freshman standout, Jahlil Okafor, and retired NBA Star Clyde Drexler. What a trip!
