Zac Efron: The Truth Revealed

In the most recent Hollywood Reporter, Zac Efron admits to his addiction battle. Oddly enough, Efron feels better now that the public knows, in comparison to keeping the secret to himself.

On NBC’s The Today Show, Matt Lauer interviewed the young actor about his upcoming film and personal issues. The interview showed Efron’s excitement for his new movie Neighbors, as well as an improvement in his health. After a rough year, Efron is happy to announce that he is in a good place right now, with his co-stars in Neighbors, helping him out as much as they can. In Hollywood Reporter, he talked about his dream of no longer being seen as just a Disney Channel star. He also discussed the happiness he has felt ever since joining Alcoholics Anonymous. On top of that, he is also seeing a therapist. It’s easy to believe that Efron is on the road to recovery, with support and guidance from others.

Back in September, stories surfaced about 26 year-old Efron in rehab. Back in the spring of 2013, Efron reportedly finished treatment for alcohol abuse and cocaine addiction. Fortunately, Efron has been happier and healthier ever since, and more focused on working. While on The Today Show, Efron admitted to Savannah Guthrie that, “I’m in the best place that I’ve ever been in. I’ve never been this happy before. I’m extraordinarily grateful for these guys and to be here promoting this movie. Things are good. Thank you for asking.” (Huffington Post).

You can see Efron in his newest movie Neighbors out this Friday. The best of luck is wished for Efron and his bright future!
