Alec Baldwin : Can’t Catch a Break

This Tuesday, Alec Baldwin was in a sticky situation, which seems to be happening a lot lately for the actor. This is not the first run in with trouble that the 56-year old has gone through, and it probably won’t be the last.

Around 10:15 on Tuesday, May 15th, Baldwin was stopped by the police for riding his bicycle in the wrong direction on Fifth Avenue (E! News). It may seem like this is a silly reason for someone to get arrested, but the confrontation was prolonged after Baldwin failed to show I.D. and became “belligerent”. After arguing, he was issued a second summons of disorderly conduct and was taken to New York’s 13th precinct station (In Touch).

In the beginning of this year, after a rough 2013, Baldwin announced plans of moving to California. His motives behind leaving behind the Big Apple were his issues with publicity and the interference of photographers with his family life. In New York Magazine, Baldwin conducted an essay about his desire to leave to public life, and how after 30 years, he is “done with it”.

In 2013, on top of many incidents with paparazzi, Baldwin feel victim in, what he described as, “an altercation on the street, in which I was accused—wrongly—of using a gay slur…” (E! News). After a photographer, supposedly, almost “clipped” Baldwin’s child’s head with his camera, he raged in front of many NYC citizens, as well as paparazzi. In the aftermath of the event. Baldwin stated, “there’s an impression that I’m someone who seeks to have violent confrontations with people,” (E! News).

Although there are aspirations of ditching his life as a celebrity, it seems Baldwin won’t be able to escape the paparazzi.
