After a tough seven-game series, the Seattle Mariners fell to the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday, October 20, missing out on their first-ever World Series appearance. Fortunately, thirty-two years later, the Toronto Blue Jays have found themselves an appearance in the World Series
The Blue Jays will take on the reigning World Series champs, the Los Angeles Dodgers, in a best-of-seven series. The first two games will be played at the Blue Jays’ home field, Rogers Centre, since their regular season record of 94-68 was higher than the Dodgers’ 93-69. Then, the teams will travel to the West Coast to Dodger Stadium for three games. If needed, the teams will travel back to Toronto to play the last two games.
Around WMC, there are mixed opinions about the favorite team to win. WMC Junior Kelly Kaasmann said, “I want the Blue Jays to win, no more Dodgers.” On the flip side, WMC teacher Mr. Cassidy wants the Dodgers to win because, “I’m a Dodgers fan, so go Dodgers.”
The first game starts on Friday, October 24, at 8 pm Eastern time and is available to watch on Fox Network. The renaming schedule is Saturday, October 25; Monday, October 27; Tuesday, October 28; and if necessary, Wednesday, October 29; Friday, October 31; and Saturday, November 1.
