Recently, the popular song artist D4vd was accused of murdering 15-year old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The artist is 20 years old and originally rose to fame on social media (specifically TikTok). He is known for his most listened song “Romantic Homicide” with over 1.7 billion streams on Spotify as of late September 2025. This viral hit was released in 2022, and is the main reason that most people know about D4vd. After this song, he released other ones that eventually got very popular as well, making D4vd pretty well known especially on TikTok.
On September 8, 2025, it became public news that the body of Celeste Rivas was found in the trunk of a car belonging to D4vd. Her cause of death is not yet determined. Theories are still spiraling online about the case. A few things that people point to are Celeste and D4vd’s matching tattoos, multiple photos of them together, and an unreleased song with her name in the lyrics multiple times. Many people think that he was framed and wasn’t involved at all, but others believe that he had to have done it. Dominic DeCicco (WMC Senior) says “I was shocked. I never would have thought this would happen because he is so young”. Others online have shared similar opinions about D4vd’s age. Trailing back to theories, Victoria Capone (WMC graduate) says “I think he killed her because she was going to tell everyone that they were together and she was underage”. There were opinions online that had this exact point.
Currently, there is no main suspect for the case and the investigation is still ongoing. According to law enforcement, there is not enough evidence yet to know for sure or point to a specific individual. As of today, all of D4vd’s future US tour dates have been completely scrapped. D4vd was last “active” on his TikTok account on September 8, 2025 (which is the date that the case became public). The last sign of him being online is just a simple repost on his account. However, some people are skeptical due to the comment feature recently being disabled on his profile.
On September 18, police received a 911 call that reported the sound of gunshots at D4vd’s home in Hempstead, Texas. The caller reportedly used a voice changer/device to hide their identity and make a fake report. Armed officers ended up arriving at the residence and bodycam footage shows the faces of D4vd’s confused parents answering the door. They claimed that someone was just “messing” with them due to the allegations and officers later determined that the call was just a terrible form of a sick prank. As for today, the case is still ongoing and officials are still searching for a main suspect as allegations still spiral online.
