On November 24th the New Jersey Devils played the Detroit Red Wings at the Prudential Center. This game was very special, not only because they won 4-3, but also because the captains of New Jersey high school ice hockey teams were invited to be at the game. Schools like Delbarton and Toms River High schools attended. But most importantly the WMC Ice hockey team was also invited.
The captains of the WMC ice hockey team didn’t attend because they were juniors and only seniors could go. Instead, Tyler Hill and Brendan Mullin were invited. During the second period intermission The Devils announcer announced that all of the captains are going to be on the ice. School by school they came out and formed multiple lines across the ice.
Tyler Hill was very proud to represent his team at the Prudential center. “My favorite part was realizing that I was in a leadership role, and that I was a big part of the team,” Hill said.
Brendan Mullin was also super excited to be able to be on the ice and have that opportunity. “ We were only on the ice for only, like, 30 seconds, but it was still cool to see everyone in the stands,” Mullin said.
