The All-Eastern Choir has recently accepted ten of West Morris Central’s choir members: Diya Bajaj, Elisa Castro, Allison Dilling, Maya Janssen, Mikayla Kelly, Violet Klapal, Anabelle Ortiz, Sophia Passaro, Nico Sloan, and finally Mikey Vespignani. The All-Eastern Choir consists of over 1000 students from 11 states and members are delighted to have been selected for this honor.
Choir Direct Mark Stingle comments that the amount of acceptances from West Morris this year have increased significantly since usually around 1-3 students are selected. He states, “As more students have been successful, more have realized that they can try out – success breeds success!”
The “I Can” positivity in choir has encouraged students to express their skills and work hard for this goal. Students have cheered on each other to increase the productive atmosphere in the choir. Stingle states, “We didn’t do much differently this year – we simply have a very talented and hard-working group of students!”
Auditions consist of two sets of scales as well as an additional piece. To prepare, most students did not take private lessons but learned their techniques during classes or additional lessons with Mr. Stingle. Auditions were then recorded and sent out.
West Morris Central is proud of the hardworking students who have reached this goal and continue to cheer on others.
