West Morris Central celebrates their artist of the month, Gavin Resnick!
With football season at its peak, the school likes to give the marching band drum major well deserved attention. This month was full of hard work and effort for Resnick. He conducts the marching band pit as well as those doing the halftime show on the field.
As a senior, he finds that the experience gave him strong leadership skills and will benefit him when he joins the marching band in college. “I think the skill for being drum major is to have leadership skills, be able to listen to others, take in other people’s ideas, know how to conduct and keep on time, as well as being able to be communicative,” Resnick said.
After attending band camp motivated him to try for the role, he recommends that newer members in the marching band take the opportunity to be a drum major if they are confident in their dedication to help the band improve.
The school is extremely proud of all his dedication to the band and wishes him nothing but the best in his future ambitions.
