P.R.I.D.E. Respect: Student of the Month

P.R.I.D.E. Respect: Student of the Month

Aiden Hester has been able to show respect in multiple ways to members of West Morris Central High School. Hester’s positivity in the classroom has encouraged many classmates. Teachers have noticed a change in his energy and the courteous manner he displays. He states that, “My positivity changed. I was not the type of person to give off positivity. So, I think my positivity changed a lot and that helped.” In addition to being positive, Hester displays kindness to others and encourages others to do the same. His advice is to, “Be kind to others.” He is very enthusiastic to have received this honor as he did not expect it. Hester wishes to keep up with his respectful enthusiasm in all aspects of his life.

Joao Nocera has shown respect in and out of the classroom. In the classroom, he is constantly showing his desire to learn and his appreciation for an opportunity to be taught by teachers here at West Morris. Nocera shows his engagement by stating, “I’m helpful and I love to learn and ask questions.” Outside of the classroom, he does not only show respect to authority figures but also fellow classmates. He states, “I tend to help other students, not just teachers.” Never winning student of the month before, Nocera did not expect it; however, he is very excited to be considered a model of respect. He will continue to show respect in aspects of his life as it is an important quality for everyone. Nocera advises other students to “Be respectful, be responsible, and get a good education.”

Cade Zeolla feels it is an honor to be chosen as student of the month. Cade said he likes to think about others and help them when needed. He is always friendly to people and is there for them when they need it. He likes to be respectful and tries to make smart choices. Cade participates in several clubs and sports such as winter and spring track. He competes in the pole vault event which takes time and dedication. Although he finds math and physics challenging, he tries his best to do well in those classes. He does excel in other classes such as history. His goals for this year are to get an A in physics and do the best he can in track. Cade advises his classmates to “Be yourself while thinking of others because people would remember how you made them feel whether it’s positive or negative in the future. Think how it might affect you and someone else mentally or physically.”

Michael Ferry is honored to be chosen for student of the month. Michael has been working hard all year in his classes, and while finds math challenging, he makes up for it in English and history. Michael also participates in clubs and sports such as baseball, hockey, Unified sports, and student government. Michael believes he was chosen because he works hard to excel in all of his classes. His current goals for the year are to get into his top choices for college and to help both WMC ice hockey and baseball make it to the state championship and win. Michael advises students to “Work hard in class and be a good person. A great person.”
